Introduction: Flight Planning software is necessary to make IFR flights (according to Instrument Flight Rules) possible. It makes it possible to prepare your flight, choose nav-aids enroute and to plot/print the route to fly. In this section you will not find GPS programs, to be linked to your fs95/fs98 autopilot. FS98 GPS programs can be found on a separate page. FS2000 includes GPS. FS2000 planner is not perfect at all. The free FSNavigator 3.0 and the shareware FSPlan98 can be used for FS2000!

 This application extension exports FS2000 flight plans from FSNav for use with the GPS gauge. Not tested with FSNav 2.3!! First aid for new fs2000 users:

  • Install FSNavigator in your fs2000 folder. Don't run FSNavigator database builder.
  • Copy the two dataset files (to be found in the separate to download 3,3 Mb dataset file) to the folder ../fs2000/modules/fsnavigator.
  • Start fs2000. press F9, go to options-settings-open scenery.
  • Choose fs2K, click on OK and have fun!

 Mercator version 1.1 is a free planner (797Mb). It is small - the executable is less than 200k - and still powerful. The design philosophy is to allow the user to generate routes automatically, as well as allowing manual editing from a smooth interface. This way you can first let the program do the dirty work, and then fine-tune the result yourself. All navigation information is taken directly from Flight Simulators scenery files.  Planner 98 version 4.0. (7,4Mb) A great shareware ($25) planner by Sascha Felix. The program does what you expect a flight planner to do: you can create flight plans (either manually or automatically), calculate fuel, alternate airports, look at maps with flight-relevant information (navaids, airports, runways), etc. In addition to flight planning, the program provides you with a GPS, two Moving Maps and a Weather Generator which produces weather changes during a flight.  Aplgen 2.0.(555k) I don't know what type of program it is. Basicly it's a very clever flightplanner with a lot of included routes. But the auther states that it creates 1,324 ATC adventures for FS98/95, Generates flight files for FS95/98 add-on's EFIS98 (EFIS 2.5), NavDash 2.5, GPS98, SquawkBox FMS, DPGPS, ACS-GPS, and, First Class 747 Panel. Moving Map and Weather Generator. Normaly I hesitate adding shareware files to my files lists but this file is worth the money. Full version (7,3Mb) and update to version 3,5 (1Mb). Visit the authors site for database files. In non registered version you cannot create or load any other database than the two that come with this version: Europe1.mdb which covers the area of the commercial scenery Europe1; Usswnav.mdb which covers the Southwest of the US as defined in FS98 and you cannot load or save flightplans. Update to version 4.0 available since March 31, 1999.

The best PC flightplanner available, now updated for FS6. The basic planner is shareware. Basic options included in the free version but you will pay the registration as soon as you see the capability's of this product. Plan flights between any two locations and generate flight plans and voice-ATC BAO Flight Shop adventures. Also features Map, BGL file import,FS5 weather, and logbook tools. . Made by Antoine Becker. To use the update, you need to install the full version of Winplanner using three files: plnr.zip (1,113k),plnr2.zip (891k),and plnr3.zip (1,030k).
